Hotel: done. Flight: done. Baggage: done. Food: Don`t know yet? Don`t worry! I`m here to help you. In this article, I want to recommend you the best Peruvian food in Lima. These where my 3 favorite dishes. You have to try them!

1. Causa and Pisco Sour

If you are a potato lover the Causa is for you. Mashed potato is the principal ingredient, but this time is served cold as a starter or as a light meal. Sometimes is prepared like a roll filled with chicken, tuna, vegetables or whatever other ingredients the Chef wants to use to surprise you, and some other times in layers of all the ingredients. Both of the presentations are absolutely wonderful, and they are accompanied by different kind of sauces and garnishes.

And I can obviously not forget about Pisco Sour. It is considered the national beverage of Peru. This drink is made of, Peruvian Pisco liquor, lime juice, syrup, egg white, Angostura bitters, and ice. Sounds nice, right? And guess what? It is originated from Lima. You have to try one while you stay in this metropolis.

You might be thinking about where to have a good Causa and a Pisco Sour in Lima. Well, I can guarantee you that you will fall in love with La Rosa Nautica. Is not only the best restaurant I tried in this city but the most beautiful I saw. I recommend you to make a reservation before you go, sometimes you need around to 2 months to book.

2. Ceviche and Pisco Sunrise

Located in the coast, Lima is the perfect place to eat seafood. Ceviche is probably the most recognized dish from Peru. Chefs of all over the world recreate this recipe and try to make it special. But none of them will ever compete against the authentic Peruvian Ceviche prepared in the capital with lots of onions, lime, cilantro, and fresh fish. The one in the picture is from La Rosa Nautica. It had even avocado!

And for those who prefer a sweet cocktail over a strong one, the Pisco Sunrise is the perfect drink for you. Peruvian Pisco, orange juice, grenadine, and ice. That`s it. Great, right? It`s like a Tequila Sunrise but with Pisco.

3. Suspiro Limeño Dessert

Sweet like a sigh of a girl from Lima is how the Suspiro Limeño is described. The dessert that represents this city over the world. It`s made with condensed milk, evaporated milk and egg yolks, is the perfect end for your Peruvian dinner.

Don`t worry about where to find it, you can get one in every corner. I tried the one from Tanta, and it was absolutely delicious. Its sweet taste and soft texture made me feel in heaven.
